The press comprises a power driven, heavy pressing wheel which is rotated on its axis inside an annular, extraction cage. The cage is internally channelled with an annular track in which the rim of the wheel slides with a slight clearance. The axis of the wheel is parallel and eccentric to the axis of the cage. The cage is freely rotatable within a ring of freely rotatable, radial support rollers. The periphery of the wheel just clears the internal circumference of the annular track at its closest point. The cage can be rotated on its axis by frictional drive transmitted from the wheel to the channel via sandwiched material being pressed. Extracted oil outlet holes are pref. formed through the base and sides of the track in the cage. An inlet for material to be pressed is pref. formed into the zone of max. clearance between wheel and cage. Used for prodn. of oil from soft oil seeds and fruits, such as grape stones, cupra, olives etc. together with simultaneous output of drained cake suitable for pelletising. This robust, simple machine applies progressively increasing pressure up to a max. Highly efficient pressing action is obtd. by two eccentric rolling elements with frictional drive coupling.
