The suction or pressure pipe of a dredger installation has at least one hinged coupling. In fact, two such couplings are fitted with reduced clearance between them, and are connected by union piece which permits a slight length alteration. The ball hinge type couplings are provided with a connection for a fluid wash and/or grease lubrication. They are also made of wear-resistant material. Each coupling (1) comprises an internal ball-shaped fitting part (4) and is provided with a connecting flange (5) for the pipe union, particularly where the pipe runs towards a suction pump. The fitting part (4) has a front flange (6) against which a connecting piece (7) is bolted.
