The tension-relief clamp for cables passing into a housing has a slot (3) extending over its length parallel to the cable's axis. A serrated wedge (14) can be inserted through a hole in the side of the U-shaped clamp to compress the cable forcing it towards the slot. A projection on each side of the slot passes into a hole when the clamp is deformed as a result of the slot being closed.
