The pipe connection for unprepared pipe ends consists of a sealing sleeve (3) whose internal diameter is equal to the external diameter of the pipes (1 and 2) which are to be connected to one another. In each case one flanged ring (12, 13) is pushed onto the conical external surface parts (5 and 6) of the sealing sleeve (3). The flanged rings are of conical construction on their internal surface (14, 15). The flange parts (23 and 24) of the flanged rings (12 and 13) have holes (25 and 26) which are aligned with one another and through which screws (30) are passed. By tightening the flanged rings (12, 13) against one another, a mainly radial force is exerted on the sealing sleeve (3) against the external circumferences of the pipe ends (1 and 2). The material of the sealing sleeve (3) at the same time starts to flow against the pipes (1 and 2), and, as the pressure is increased still further during further tensioning of the flanged rings (12 and 13) with respect to one another, it is finally completely solidified. Once this solidified state of the material of the sealing sleeve (3) has been reached, the connection itself remains as a fixed pipe connection if the flanged rings (12 and 13) are removed again.
