Screw-threaded thermoplastics of thermosetting-plastics mouldings are cast or press-moulded in a mould with =1 screw-threaded core which is unscrewed from the resulting moulding after the shaping step; the unscrewing being guided by =1 guide nut fitted in the mould. Each guide nut is mfrd. in situ in the mould by casting in the same casting step as the moulding in the mould, and removed from it after each casting operation. Risk of damage to screw thread(s) of the moulding during removal from the mould is minimised. Mouldings with relatively log screw threads can be mfrd.
