The packing piece is formed partly of cardboard and partly of plastic, together forming one or more walls, typically a base. The front of this is in contact with the item contained and forms the useful surface, and the other side forms the external surface. The wall is non-continuous, having one or more recesses (18) open to the outside and forming a corresponding protrusion in the useful surface. it is either entirely of plastic (17), or the external surface (2) is of cardboard and the useful one of plastic (17, 18). The protrusion can be shaped so as to fit directly in the item and hold it in position.
