The difference between echo signals from fixed and moving objects is established by using a programme which produces control signals representing the bandwidth of received signals of fixed targets. A variable gain circuit which is programmed from a control signal applies a signal to a levelling function generator with an input circuit connected to the radar receiver. Levelled signals from the function generator are filtered by a variable signal to eliminate parasitic echos. The filter comprises delay circuits which enable a number of successive levelled signals coming from the same distance intervals to be superimposed.
