Abstract of the DisclosureA channel shaped member is mounted on a roof withinan occupant compartment. The channel shaped memberslidably receives an intermediate portion of A shoulderbelt that has one end received within a retractormounted on the roof within the occupant compartmentadjacent an outboard upper rear portion of a vehiclesent and that has its other end secured to an inter-mediate portion of a lap belt. The channel shapedmember thus provides an arrangement in which the shoulderbelt extends diagonally across the chest portion of theseated occupant without touching the occupant's neck.- 1 -
