ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREGraft copolymer dispersions are prepared by thein situ polymerization of phosphorus or phosphorus and halogencontaining monomers in the presence of a free radical catalystin a polyol containing from about 1.0 to about 2.5 moles ofunsaturation per mole of polyol, the amount of the monomeremployed being from 1% to 50% based on the weight of theunsaturated polyol and the amount of catalyst added rangingfrom about 0.5% to about 10% by weight based on the weightof the monomer. Such copolymer dispersions may be used toprepare urethane compositions having fire-retardant properties.
