The lapping tool consists of a main body on which segment shaped carriers (2, 3) are mounted. Strips of grinding material (41) are mounted on the carriers. The positions of the carriers can be adjusted radially against spring pressure. The axial position of the carriers is fixed. - The radial position of the carriers is adjusted by means of a wedge piece (1) against which the inside faces of the carriers lie. The wedge piece is moved axially to adjust the carriers. The ends of the carriers fit over the main body of the lapping tool.
