The gimbal-type gyroscope suspension system has a freely suspended rotor coupled to a shaft driving it at constant speed. Two symmetrically arranged identical gimbal systems each have first and second members secured to the rotor and shaft by torsion springs so as to form two parallel systems supporting the rotor. - The first axis of the first system (31, 35) is inclined to that of the second system (33, 37). The second axes of these systems are at the same angle to each other, and both system lie in a common plane.
