A circuit (100) is used for producing a constant spectral distribution for stabilising the output of a light standard or reference light source. the circuit includes a discharge tube and is designed to eliminate separate calibration of different sources of the same type. - The electric power supplied to the tube is regulated according to the ratio or difference of two wavelengths or comparison values of wavelength regions limited by filters or other devices. A series combination of a spectral filter, photo-receiver, and amplifier is connected to each input of the comparison device whose output is connected to the control amplifier.
