The edge compression roller is built-onto a road-rolling machine for compacting road edges. It has a securing member fastened to the machine, and another component, bearing the edge roller, which can slope, in pivot pins aligned in the direction of travel. - A sliding carriage (7) is height-adjustably led in the sloping component (6), with the truncated, conical shaped compression roller (10) rotating at the bottom. A spindle (8) for adjusting the height is set between the slide and sloping component. The system permits simple and rapid adaptation to varuing road edge configurations, while the roller is in use.
