Automatic wire wrapping of terminal board - uses board carrying co-ordinate table, which is moved under wire wrapping tools with controlled wire feeder

The automatic wiring of terminal boards using wire wrapping tools is performed on an XY co-ordinate table. The wire (10) is fed at a controlled rate over a feed roller (16) driven by a motor to two wire wrappers (8', 9'). The terminal board (2) is secured to the table (6), which is driven by stepping motors (6', 7'). The path control of the table motors, feed roller and wire wrapping tools is effected by data from tape interpreted by a dedicated computer (23). At a change in co-ordinate direction the wire feed is first made greater and then smaller than the normal feed.
