Addn. of 0.5-10 vol.% of a carbocyclic ether adduct (pref. oxyethylated iso-octyl phenol) to a fluxing agent such as 50% H3PO4 or 'soldering water' (20% ZnCl2 1% NH4Cl and 70% water) improved the wetting and suppresses splashing of the liquid.
