The division device is for a calculator which has four fundamental operations and enables the calculator to perform division and, if required, subtraction with the fewest possible additional components and using a simple method. - It performs cyclic multiplication of the divisor with sample quotients and differences the products with the part of the dividend corresp. to the product order. A result register receives each sample quotient which is input to the multiplier via a first set of gates. A second set of gates inputs divisor into the multiplier. Further gates provide adder inputs.
