Radio telephone network for fixed and mobile stations - monitors phase difference of pilot signal to measure distance of mobile station from fixed station

The radio telephone network is used for several fixed and mobile stations. It derives its switching criteria using phase difference range measurement. Each fixed station compares the phase of its transmitted pilot signal with that of the same pilot signal sent back by the called or calling mobile station. If the phase difference falls below a given lower limit the transmitting power of the fixed station is reduced whilst if it lies above an upper limit the corresponding mobile station is excluded from that section of the network.
