The cladding is for flat, or nearly flat, roofs covered with a loose-laid membrane with an edge-shaped section, parallel to the roof edge, which has a fixing flange on the covering and a screen projecting above and below the roof plane. In this plane the roof membrane is firmly connected to the edge section by a clamp assembly comprising the two clamping bars with a spreader device, pref. with hinged levers, set between them. The flange pref. is joined to the screen border by a stepped channel, and the screen border is bent at the top to form a downward-open groove facing the channel. The extended membrane edge strip is pref. wide enough to cover the clamp assembly, with its end led back and cemented to the membrane, wind-resistant cladding is provided, permitting detachable and adjustable membrane laying with no holes required which would affect sealing.
