A conical valve is mounted on a hollow rod operated by a diaphragm housed in a chamber at the lower end of the regulator housing. The rod is loaded by a coil-spring bellows assembly with a central chamber. A pressure tube passes down the centre of the rod and connects the space above the diaphragm with the central space within the inlet port pressure-reducing device. A second boring joins the central chamber with the upper end of the rod in the region of the regulator valve seat. An external tube joins the lower diaphragm chamber with the inlet port. Pressure differentials are sensed by the device and the regulating valve is opened and closed to maintain equilibrium.
