The colloidal Au solns. can be used in tumour therapy and diagnosis (the Au accumulates in the reticuloendothelial system). The solns. remain highly stable when diluted with physiological saline soln. or diet. H2O, thus reducing the risk of agglomeration at the point of injection or in the lungs.
