Holes on the lengthways girders are for filling with site concrete cross support beams being drawn through them, and an L-shaped recess along the cross-running abutting joint gaps is also filled with concrete. Apart from the holes (3), the prefabricated slabs (1) are produced in the full thickness of the roadway slab. The cross tension members (9) as well as the full reinforcement (7, 8) of the roadway slab, run through both the prefabricated slabs and the cross support beam (4), and where necessary through the holes. Recesses are provided in the bottom of the prefabricated slabs, in the seating area of the lengthways girders, so that when laid the prefabricated slabs span the lengthways girder or its upper chord. Very heavy loading can be tolerated, and the slabs can be driven over before the joints are filled.
