The machine for necking and internal sizing of an open end of a deep drawn metal tube with one closed end has a fixed necking die and an actuated necking ram. The neck bore is sized internally by a sizing plug held on an ejection mandrel. The machine has arrangements for cyclic necking, neck sizing and for ejection. This machine is simplified so that no additional monitoring and control elements are needed and the machine has relatively simple design and only one sizing operation is carried out. The calibrating plug is held on the ejection mandrel so that the nut is able to slide on the mandrel. The nut is drawn through the neck for sizing and remains outside the neck while the ejection mandrel ejects the sized metal tube.
