Stretcher with patient securing straps - has automatic winders and lock to allow infinite adjustment of straps spaced along stretcher length

The Stretcher comprises straps which secure and/or support the patient, and two or more automatic winders, each with a lock (42) allowing infinite adjustment of the strap lengths. At each of the head and foot ends of the stretcher may be a supporting strap, and between these is at least one securing strap. The stretcher may include an upwardly pivotable back section near which is at least one securing strap. The winders are pref. mounted on the side of the stretcher beneath the supporting surface for the patient, using at least one winder to secure the free end of the strap attached to the other side of the strecther.
