Animal skinning by pulling skin over elongated blade - while hog rotates about its longitudinal axis

A hog is loaded into position where it is supported on a horizontal surface which includes a roller. A longitudinal slit is made in the skin and the flap is pulled downwards by a pair of chains which extend beneath the hog supporting roller. A horizontal cutter blade is introduced between the flap and the hog adjacent the hog support roller and cuts skin from the hog when the skin flap is pulled downwards by the chains. Automated loading of the hog together with direct skin removals allows high speed skinning of hogs.
