Personnel paging system in wristwatch - gives notice of telephone call by transmitting alphanumeric signal for display

The personnel paging system transmits alphanumeric signals to e.g. a wristwatch (11). The wristwatch then replace the time indication with a text (22) that informs the wearer that he is wanted on the telephone. The alphanumeric signals are transmitted from a central unit and stored by the wristwatch. The time indication is interrupted at periodic intervals and the store contents read out onto the display in place of the time. The wristwatch may be replaced by any other form of clock.
