The accessory is partic. for lorry mounted hydraulic loading cranes, having at each side of the lorry near the slewing column control levers to operate the slewing and derricking valves. An interlock mechanism stops the slewing motion whenever the jib enters a predetermined sector (23) of the slewing circle (24), in which the control levers being used are situated. This mechanism allows slewing to continue when controlled by levers on the opposite side of the vehicle (1). There can be two cams in diametrally opposite positions and at different heights on the column, acting against shoes on a lever coupled to the slewing control levers on opposite sides of the lorry.
