The window demister for vehicle side windows which can be opened and closed, consists of a window wire heater with two socket contacts to which the supply is connected from plugs on the window frame when the window is closed. A wire heater (3) is mounted on the window at the top of which are two socket contacts (2, 2a). When the window is closed these make contact with two plugs (1, 1a) mounted on the window frame and a current may be supplied to heat the window and to demist it.
