Self cancelling direction indicator switch - operates with double armed spring and has return tag on steering column

The self cancelling direction switch has a switching wafer (9) made of thermoplastic material surrounded by a V-shaped spring (43) whose free ends are set to extend out of the switch, and normally out of reach of the tag (5) on the steering column (4). The sides of the wafer are profiled and interact with sprung side pieces (27) to lock in position. The spring tilts to one side so that one of the ends is struck by the tag on the return stroke of the column, to release the switch.
