Word processing unit with printing station has a sensor located at a predetermined position relative to the printing head and able to detect the author's correction marks on the draft text. Working and tabulating stores are provided of which the former actuates a correction search routine by which the marked draft is scanned up and fown and across. When the marks are detected a function signal is generated and the paper is positioned in such a way that the marked symbols lie opposite the printing station. The use of such a correction unit ensures that errors marked by an author are not missed.
