Elastic cover plate for use with a spring board installation used in gymnastics where a plate construction is placed over a spring layer and rigidly connected at its upper side. The spring layer (2) is formed from several longish small spring elements (4) parallel to each other and extending over the width of the cover plate. Each spring element is formed by two elastically sprung and bendable springs stays (5, 6) which are rigidly connected to each other at both ends (7) and of which at least the upper stay forms a curve directed away from the other one.
