Droplet generator for ink droplet printer has a chamber (1) one wall of which is constituted a pressure pulse generator (3, 5). The chamber is connected to a duct (15) having at one end a nozzle (17) for the droplets and at the other end a restricted inlet (19) from a supply duct (21). Across the supply duct the inlet faces a relatively large outlet (27) from the chamber. A pressure pulse in the chamber acts through the outlet to urge a valve member (23) to close the inlet. A suction pulse has the opposite effect. The arrangement improves the necessary pressure rectification.
