The tape speed adjuster, which is intended for the provision of lip-cynrhonised sound to a narrow gauge film, consists of a cone selectively movable along the shaft of the drive motor. Cylindrical regiosn along the cone correspond to the standard tape speeds. Drive is transferred from the cone to a flywheel by an idler wheel. If a sound coupler or the pilot tone process is being used synchronising errors during film projection due to tape dimensional changes can be corrected by altering the spacing between three rollers over which the tape passes and which are positioned between the tape recorder and the sound coupler. The patent describes an arrangement for marking the tape to show start and end of filming a microphone holder attachable to a portable tape recorder and a sound-proof case for a camera.
