Individual CTD (charge transfer devices) lines transmit unidirectionally and their characteristic admittance is determined by its characteristic charge exchange capacitance. Two CTD lines with opposite forward directions (U1, V1; U2, V2; U3, V3) are combined in a pair. All pairs have a common charge exchange capacitance (1). Lines are combined in a pair (e.g. U1, V1) by connection through a further CTD line whose forward direction is from the incoming (e.g. U1) to the outgoing line (e.g. V1) of the respective line pair.
