Electronic ball games can be displayed on a TV Screen, and include one symbol for the ball and also a separate symbol for each player. Each player can in turn contact the ball symbol in order to influence its movement as it approaches the playing partner. To increase the ball control for each player, the influence on the ball symbol after contact is extended. Thus the speed or flight path of the returned ball symbol can be varied for a short time after contact. During that time, the ball control signals from the opposing players are ineffective. The system uses a logic circuit with two AND gates (5, 6) an RS flip-flop, and an output circuit with two further AND gates (8, 9) and an OR gate (12).
