A radiation appts. of for dental surgeons or technicians. It has an optic fibre within a radiation-proof housing to lead the radiation from the source to the object under examination. A movable shutter enables the surgeon or technician to interrupt the radiation as desired during the treatment of processing. A hard-piece is installed at the radiation outlet end of the optic fibre. The shutter (4) and its associated operating element (5) are mounted on the hard-piece. When the radiation is cut off by the shutter it rests in the gap between the radiation outlet end of the optic fibre and the facing end of the radiation outlet window.
