The television signals are transmitted over at least a part of their path as PCM, DPCM, or delta modulated digital signals consisting of words. When t.v. signals are generated and/or reproduced for the horizontal and/or vertical deflection, two decorders, each controlled by a pulse counter, are provided. The pulse counter for horizontal deflection is operated by word pulses, and the vertical deflection counter by line pulses. The vertical deflection decoder is connected to the pulse counter so that the least significant digit (2 deg.) of the decoder is connected to the last counter stage (n). The following decoder stages are connected to the first and following counter stages.
