A device for electronic control and monitoring of temp. in cooling or heating installations has a switch for switching in or cutting off the coding or heating medium and temp. sensors in the space being cooled or heated. In is designed to be independent of temp. adjustments delays and inherent sensor lag so as to enable a control error of one degree or less. The heating medium switch is opened and closed for predefined intervals under control of a timer and switching logic. The sensors are used only to show the achieved temp. Temp. of humidity at points in the controlled space or ambient temp. may be digitally displayed using a selector button.
