A miniaturised transmitter is worn as a wrist watch device to provide communication with a central point. The wrist watch shaped housing has a battery (8) and a signal generating device in the form of a pin (6) centred in a magnet (7). The pin contacts the wrist to activate a transmitter (5) that outputs a continuous signal. The unit also contains a miniature receiver (4).
