Floor cleaning fabric - has layer of water-repellent bristles under absorbent layer to move smoothly over wet floor surface

The construction of a cleaning cloth with =1 absorbent layer, e.g. for use with a floor cleaning tool, has water-repellent bristles under the absorbent layer forming capillaries between them. The construction allows the material to glide smoothly over the floor being cleaned, with good water extraction from the floor surface. The absorbent layer and the bristles are bonded together by a water permeable adhesive. The absorbent layer is a woven or felting fabric, or a sponge-type material, using cotton or other natural fibres, or of a plastic material with hydrophilic qualities. The bristle layer is a woven velvet of hydrophonic synthetic fibres (e.g. polyamide) or natural fibres.
