The bells in the chime are of different sizes, and have different resonant frequencies. The bells (10) are suspended through non-metal intermediate elements with limited mobility. The excitation coil (14) of a magnetic striker hitting the bell near its rim is connected to a supply source (19) through an electronic stage (15) determining the force of the strike and strike sequence, and through at least one key (17, 21) of a keyboard. Each stage (15) of the electronic control unit includes a multivibrator (20) with an adjustable flip frequency; a circuit connector (16) in each control unit links the multivibrator with the striker.
