The vibration reducing mounting for living/working quarter modules on vessels or structures with continuously running machinery includes an elastic insert (3) between two parallel conical surfaces. Relative movement of the cones is limited by stop bolts. The mounting flange (7) of the base cone (1) has a tapering rim around most of its periphery, and the module cone (2) includes a taper-edged flange around its base. In the event of insert failure, the tapers (31, 32) mate and convert the mounting into a rigid one.
