Wiper strip (10) is provided above the table conveyor belt (1) near its delivery end to slide the goods off sideways from the belt. The upper stringer (14) of the belt (1) is guided at a small distance in front of the strip (10) over a bead (12) which is fixed beneath the upper stringer (14) and serves to raise it. The strip pref. runs on a parabolic course and extends from the outer edge to the inner edge of the strip. The goods drawn up on the conveyor belt are diverted 90 deg. from the usual conveyor direction so that the check-out table which takes up the incoming goods can be mounted directly adjoining the conveyor belt. The belt itself occupies a position parallel to the longitudinal axis of the checkout desk and can be shifted up to the outer limits of the desk.
