Reactive power monitor for supply network - compensates for reactive power using resistors and indicators value of compensation

The reactive power monitor, is designed for use in supply netorks. The reactive power monitor has a compensation circuit which is adjusted to counteract or compensate for the reactive power. The compensation value is then displayed. The compensation circuit consists of a calibrated resistance decade. An additional device determines effective power and is coupled to a computer that calculates the permissible reactive power given a certain wanted power factor. The DC outputs of the monitor circuit can be connected to a recorder. The reactive power monitor circuit is completely automatic in operation.
