Prepn. of foams comprises reacting (A) polyisocyanates, with (B) a polyol, epoxy cpd., polycarboxylic acid, acid anhydride and/or other cpd. which reacts with NCO gps., in presence of foaming agent and opt. catalyst, foam stabiliser, etc., with addn. of (C) =1 organic amine/metal complex of Cu, Ni, Pb, Co, Mn, Zn or Cr, soluble in the liquid ingredients, in amt. of 0.5-30 wt. % based on total wt. of ingredients. Reduced surface flammability and increased resistance to burning are obtd. without causing corrosion of contacting metals or forming toxic gases or burning.
