Template for positioning junction box - is applied during wall construction to ensure flush fitting when final plastering work is done

The template comprises a flat plate (1) of a thickness equal to the final plaster skim which will subsequently be applied to the wall. It has a hole (9) into which the junction box (2) fits. Normally stops (6) are provided to position it. The plate also carries a spirit level (4, 5) to assist in accurate positioning. To place a box in the hole in the rough wall is filled with quick setting plaster. The box, on the template, is pushed into position until the template is pressing against the wall. The template is then carefully removed from the box leaving the latter projecting the correct distance so that when plastering is completed it will be flush with the surface of the finished wall.
