The convertor has at the input a storage inductor and a transistor whose collector-emitter path is in the series arm, and a diode in the shunt arm. A supporting capacitor is at the inductor output terminal. In addition there are voltage and current limiters. A measurement circuit (L3, R1) is connected to the storage inductor (L21), a pulse transformer (L41) is provided for the transistor (T1) control released only after the lower limit of operating voltage is reached. The transformer primary winding is supplied with a constant current, and all components are interconnected so that only the specific current for the respective component flows in individual sections of conducting traces. A common hysteresis resistor (R2) is used for voltage (SP) and current (SR) limiting.
