Structural component in form of a sheet, moulding or extrudate is made of cement-bonded fibres and/or chips and has an embedded reinforcement surrounded by cement. The reinforcement is a (stainless) steel wire netting or a plastics, pref. nylon, netting. Any plastics whose strength increases by stretching is suitable. Straight and/or zigzag wires may be incorporated in the netting. The latter can be woven or knitted fabric, opt. incorporating reinforcing threads. The prod. is suitable for use in building, e.g. wall claddings, roofings, gutterings or drain pipes.
