Target aiming system for tracking purposes - generates field image patterns and electrical signals overcoming mechanical effects

The target tracking instrument includes aiming system in which the first viewing field image pattern generates first set of electrical signals. A point in this field is marked. A second combined optical and electrical instrument generates second field image pattern overlapping the first one and produces corresponding electrical signals. The electronic target aiming is not affected by mechanical influences. A circuit is used for transforming the first coordinate system into third coordinate system by using specified relationships. The third system is selected so that a two dimensional cross correlation function can be computed. The second coordinate system is transformed into a fourth coordinate system together with second coordinate system by specified relationships. The latter ensure that fourth system is similar to the first coordinate system.
