Waste heat is used for aqua culture plants in coastal or inland waters. Tube lines are taken from the prodn. plant to the aqua-culture plant and the water is then passed through heat exchange elements to transfer its heat to the water in the aqua-culture vessels. The tube lines pref. consist of elastic (esp. plasticse material such as ethylene-propylene copolymers, polypropylene, low density polyethylene or polybutene. The pipes can be attached to hollow tubes in the culture pons. The pipes act as heat exchange elements and can have a number of crossmembers and longitudinal sections. Alternatively, if the warm water is uncontaminated it can be fed directly back to the culture pond. To provide useful cultures to compensate for falling catches from the sea. Allows these cultures to be operated at controlled optimum conditions using waste process heat.
