Metering of liqs. by piston pumps comprises determining the stroke positions of the drive cylinders or piston pumps and evaluating them, whilst control of the stroke of the sec. pumps is effected hydraulically in dependence on the prim. pump. Desired metering rate is regulated by setting, the corresp. stroke rate as rated or nominal value adn subsequently hydraulically effecting it as a result of evaluation. Characteristically, the stroke position of the drive cylinders is determined electronically whilst control of the secondary cylinders is achieved hydraulically as a function to the primary cylinder.
